Republican Senators Expect To Have Draft Of ACA Repeal Bill By End Of Recess.

The Washington Post  (5/26, Sullivan, Cunningham, Snell) reported Republican Senators intend “to return from a week-long holiday recess with a partial draft of a bill to reshape the nation’s health-care laws,” yet “significant and persistent divisions in their ranks have cast the prospect of passing legislation into serious doubt after weeks of discussion.” The article said Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and other top GOP lawmakers “have bluntly voiced uncertainty about how they will round up the 50 votes needed to pass a bill.” In addition, they have refused to provide “details about their emerging measure, which is expected to look different from” the American Health Care Act “that has drawn criticism from some Republicans who say it went too far in undoing the Affordable Care Act.”
